Eva Longoria Graduates With a Master's Degree in Chicano Studies

Eva Longoria Graduates With a Master's Degree in Chicano Studies
Beauty and brains! Eva Longoria had a whirlwind week in Cannes and has now topped it off with a big accomplishment: graduating with a master's degree at California State University.
"Big day today!!!" the former Desperate Housewives startweeted on Wednesday, May 22. "Very excited to graduate for my Master's degree in Chicano Studies! You're never too old or too busy to continue your education!"
Longoria's former costars and friends quickly congratulated her on the news.
Marcia Cross tweeted, "Huge congratulations on your graduation today!!!! From Canne to Cap and Gown. You are really something. Xoxo m." Bill Rancic wrote, "Congrats Eva!"
Jane Fonda, who attended Longoria's charity event at the Cannes Film Festival wrote of how inspired she is by the actress on a blogpost.
"She does these things with such ease and grace," Fonda wrote, noting that Longoria left Cannes early Wednesday morning to return to California for her graduation.
Longoria, 38, also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M University.
According to California State University's website, Chicano Studies is a "field that advances a critical understanding of the Chicana/o and Latina/o experience in the United States. Courses reflect a multidisciplinary approach to the understanding of Chicana/o and Latina/o histories, politics, culture, language and education."
While her exact class schedule isn't known -- Longoria seems to have been treated just like any other student in the program. In an interview at the beginning of May with E! News, Longoria said that she was hard at work on her thesis.
"Hopefully I'll finish it on time!" she laughed.

Why is Brad Pitt Still Talking Smack About His Marriage to Jennifer Aniston?

(Brad Pitt)
Look out, Brad Pitt is talking again!
In an interview with Esquire, the "World War Z" star recently talked about his 10-year transformation, and in the process he may have thrown another underhanded diss at his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
After revealing that in that past he was just drifting through life and doing "drug damage," the 49-year-old actor said, "But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity. It was a conscious change. This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany -- a decision not to squander my opportunities. It was a feeling of 'Get up.' Because otherwise, what's the point?"
Pitt was married to Aniston from 2000 to 2005, well within the 10 year range he refers to. But this isn't the first time he's hinted that his marriage to Aniston wasn't fulfilling.
In 2011 he told Parade of his life before meeting current love, Angelina Jolie: "I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was so intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself. I think my marriage [to Aniston] had something to do with it: trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."
Pitt later issued a statement to E! Online, saying his comments about his marriage to Aniston were misinterpreted: "It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly…The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself -- and that, I am responsible for," he said.
In the new interview with Esquire, Pitt also revealed that he thinks he may have prosopagnosia, or "face blindness," a disorder that causes him to forget people as soon as he meets them.
"So many people hate me because they think I'm disrespecting them," he said. "I took one year where I just said, This year, I'm just going to cop to it and say to people, 'Okay, where did we meet?' But it just got worse. People were more offended… You get this thing, like, 'You're being egotistical. You're being conceited.' But it's a mystery to me, man. I can't grasp a face and yet I come from such a design/aesthetic point of view. I am going to get it tested."
He also said, "I have very few friends."
Hmmmm. Throwing exes under the bus? Forgetting people you've met? Well you know what they say, Brad. With friends like these…

Jesse James Chops Off Pinky Finger

Jesse James cut off a large portion of his pinky finger on Tuesday, but he appears to be keeping his sense of humor intact.
"OOOpps, Bad day at the office," the 44-year-old ex-husband of Sandra Bullockwrote in a caption on a very gruesome photo of his severed finger he posted on Instagram.
Adding, "Headed 2 Surgery in a few #PayUpSucker @ University Medical Center."
The reality TV/motorcycle guru wasn't sure if the severed portion of his finger could be saved.
"Doesn't look like this little dude's gonna make it, Nice know'n you little buddy," he wrote in another photo caption.
As he was headed to surgery, he posted yet another photo (where he did not appear too fazed by the incident), writing, "Heading 2 surgery... "#jessejames #westcoastchoppers #StillMetal.
As of Wednesday morning, the fate of Jesse's pinky is unknown.

Conan O’Brien Begs To Differ With Taylor Swift Over ’22′

If you take it from Taylor Swift, the average 22-year-old journals about feelings, enjoys vintage bikinis and porkpie hats, and has an endless supply of gal pal clones to eat ice cream with.
Not on Conan O'Brien's watch.
The late night funnyman recorded a YouTube clip in response to Swift's music video for "22," a single extolling the ups and downs of her age. (Though, actually, she's 23 now.)
"We're happy, free, confused, and lonely, at the same time," Swift sings. O’Brien, 50, does not share the same experience.
"I know what it's like to be 22, I dont think that's an accurate representation of what its like to be 22." he said, "You're not living in that apartment, you're living in a really crappy $380-a-month apartment in the mid-Wilshire district in Los Angeles," said Conan.
And there aren't any Etsy-curated dishes or vintage soda bottles to be found.
"I didn't see any ramen noodles in that video, because that's all your eating when you're 22," the late-night host insisted.
O'Brien gave a few other choice insights into his young adulthood.
"I didn't see her driving a 1973 Plymouth Valiant, that she bought form some surfers in Santa Monica. You only buy it because it had air conditioning and then the air conditioning didn't work and the surfers laughed when you left," he said.
"You're a freak so no one talks to you. You just sit in your apartment and you watch 'Saved By The Bell' and eat ramen noodles,” O’Brien added. “And occasionally you spice it up by having lucky charms ... that's what it's like for everybody when you're 22."
Check out Swift's clip for "22" below, then Conan's response.

‘Teen Mom’ Farrah Abraham Scores New Reality Series

Farrah Abraham (Splash News)Farrah Abraham has gone full circle.
The 21-year old television personality, who got her start in the biz on MTV's "Teen Mom," recently made a widely-circulated sex tape with porn star James Deen. Now, she's ready to get back to reality ... television that is.
"Get ready for better TV :) The News Is True," Abraham tweeted Tuesday announcing a new reality venture with Spinboi Films that will follow her life as a young single mom.
In turn, the company confirmed the reality series on their Facebook page, writing "MAJOR NEWS!!! Spinboi Films has signed Teen Mom Farrah Abraham to develop a new reality docu-soap! TV magic coming soon!"
Though a network has yet to be named for the production, Abraham has shown a penchant for a no-holds barred take on her life, appearing with her now-4-year-old daughter Sophia on "Teen Mom" for four seasons before moving into the X-rated world via a sex tape with porn star Deen. She then reportedly sold the risqué video, titled "Farrah Abraham Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom," to adult content purveyor Vivid Entertainment for nearly $1 million.
Abraham even shared her pregnancy scare after the sexual encounter with Deen, tweeting "DEEP BREATHE "I'M NOT PREGNANT!!!" on May 17, after being photographed buying a pregnancy test. Deen alleged that the entire episode was all a publicity stunt telling Celebuzz, "When Vivid booked me for the scene I had two stipulations before I agreed. One, that she was tested in the exact same way as all the adult film stars and two, that she was on birth control."

‘Dancing with the Stars’ Finale: Was Something Fishy With the Voting?

(Kellie Pickler)
The "Dancing With the Stars" Season 16 results are in -- country singerKellie Pickler and her pro partner Derek Hough were crowned the champions -- but this season's mirrorball win didn't come without controversy.
While the blonde dancing duo nailed their all-important freestyle dance and were worthy contenders for the title all season -- alternately trading leaderboard top spots with Disney star Zendaya Coleman and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy -- a voting glitch for the show's finale put a slightly scandalous spin on their win.
During Monday's live East Coast broadcast, host Tom Bergeron announced that the ABC.com website was down. Viewers in that time zone were instructed to vote for their favorite couple via texting, calling, or on Facebook.
When the website was eventually restored later that night, viewers clamored online to log their votes. Frontrunner Zendaya Coleman even tweeted to her fans, "Facebook and abc.com are back online. Don't forget to vote that way too…u register with email then u will get 5 votes!!"
But on Tuesday night's finale show, Tom Bergeron announced that due to the East Coast voting glitch, in fairness to all of the finalists, none of the ABC.com votes would count.
According to Today.com, pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy's reaction to the news of the voting snafu was: "That's bull----! Well, good luck to everybody."
While the timing of the technical difficulty couldn't have been worse, East Coast viewers were ultimately given instructions on how to log their votes. In fairness to voters, those who later got through to the ABC.com website and were able to log votes that way should not have been discounted. There were alternate ways for everyone to vote, so why did the network scrap the website votes?
With this season's tight race in particular, every viewer vote mattered, especially since Kellie and Zendaya were neck in neck on the judges' leaderboard. (The Disney star scored one point higher than the "American Idol" alum on the finale night dances.)
The Hollywood Reporter noted that not all of the finalists seemed concerned by the voting glitch, reporting that backstage at the show, gymnast Aly Raisman was overheard saying that she was pretty sure that all of her fans had voted on Facebook. The Olympic gold medalist was the first one eliminated from the competition on Tuesday night.
After the finale results were revealed, Val Chmerkovskiy tweeted, "It was always about the dancing. First and foremost. And always will be Win or lose. Tnx to @Zendaya you got a small taste of what its about."
